Critical thinking

A) “Down the rabbit hole” is a sort of writing called fantasy. On the basis of your reading of the story point out some special elements of this kind of writing?

Ans: “Down the rabbit hole” is a sort of writing called fantasy writing. Fantasy is different from other sorts of writings. It consists of some special elements like:

1. Magic element

Your fantasy writing should contain magic element like supernatural elements.

2. Setting of new world

Setting of your writing must be in new world rather than general setting on earth.

3. Unique and complex characters

To drag your readers’ attention, you should add unique and complex characters in your fantasy fiction.

4. Conflict

There should be many conflicts which can attach your readers attention to the main plot.

5. System of government in fictional world

6. History

There should be background history for the conflict in the fiction.

B. Is it good to imagine of things which are not possible to achieve in reality? Explain.

Ans: Imagination has good as well as bad aspects. From negative aspect, it is not good to imagine things which are not possible to achieve in reality. It will affect our psychology, if we keep on doing daydreaming all the time.

In the same way, it has good aspects as well. lt is a good source of writing for writers. Writers can imagine certain world and create a fictional world. It gives amusement to readers. But in normal condition, too much imagination can cause problems in individual life.

It is a beautiful thing if we use it positively in your life. It is more interesting and optimistic. People can create fantastic world which they want in real life.  It gives satisfaction to them. Elon Reeve Musk (CEO of Spacex) imagined space travel.  It was considered as a pure fantasy. But now space travel is an important factor for private sector. So, imagination can help us to cross boundaries and search future possibilities

C. Do you talk to yourself when you are in a trouble? If yes, how does it help you?

Ans:  Talking to me help me to find things. Sometime, I forget the exact location of my things like purse, mobile, key, etc. I start talking to myself to remember the location. It actually works.

It also helps me stay focused. When we are in problems, it is beneficial to talk to ourselves. I become able to concentrate my mind to my problem if I start talking to myself.

It also motivates me when I talk to myself. I am being motivated to handle my problem when I talk to myself. Last time, I failed my exam in class 11. I started talking to myself about the causes behind it. As a result, I came to conclusion that I failed in my test exam due to my careless behavior. I made a mind to start again to do better in my exam. I started talking to myself about my future steps to get better result. As a result, I became topper in the final exam of class 11.

Writing

a. Narrate, in short, a folktale that you have read or heard.

Ans:  Once upon a time, there was a dangerous leopard in a dense forest. He used to hunt animals by searching them daily.  One day, he searched all around the forest but he didn’t find any animals to kill. Suddenly, he noticed a mouse playing near its hole.

The leopard caught the mouse. He was ready to eat the mouse. But the rat requested the leopard by saying that he would help the leopard in future if he set him free. The leopard became ready to accept his proposal. One sunny morning, hunters trapped the leopard in their net. The leopard tried to set himself free but he failed. Suddenly, his friend the mouse came there. He saw everything. When hunters were busy to eat food, he cut the net and set the leopard free. The leopard killed the hunters with his paw. He thanked the mouse for his help. After that incident, they became very close friends.

b. Describe a strange dream that you have seen recently.

A Strange Dream

Ans: In my dream, I was playing with my friend Hari. We were playing near a hill. We were playing a cricket game. When I started batting, the bat started to fly in the sky. We started to follow it. It reached to a cave. We entered into a cave to find out what was actually happening. The bat disappeared into the cave. We searched all the corners of the cave. We got nothing but suddenly we saw a statue of the lord Buddha. I worshipped the statue of lord Buddha by chanting mantras.

As soon as I finished my mantra, we started to see all the mistakes that we committed in our life in the backdrop of the statue. We saw lord Buddha crying for violence that we committed in our life. We were surprised by it. We discussed about it.  When we realized our mistakes that we committed, the Buddha stopped crying. Suddenly the statue of Buddha converted into a golden bat. We took it and returned back to our home. .

When I woke up, I was surprised by the dream. I tried to search the bat around my room but it was my dream only. But the dream gave me a lesson to follow the path of lord Buddha: peace, forgiveness and non-violence.
