a) Does social media have positive impact in the society? Discuss.

Social media has positive as well as negative impact in our society. We  enjoy staying connected on social media but  excessive use can damage our mental, physical and  social health. We are social creatures. We want socially connected to others. Nowadays it is a means of amusement to youngsters. It can ease stress, anxiety, and depression. If we use it correctly, it provides joy and prevent loneliness. But, we need to use it with precautions.

In 21st century, we rely on social media platforms like as Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Tiktok, YouTube, etc. These tools help to connect us with our friends and families. It contains positive sides but we need to use it consciously.

Positive impacts of social media are:

  • To communicate with friends and family
  • Find new jobs and friends
  • To sell our products online
  • TO raise awareness on local and global issues.
  • To explore our creativity and potential
  • To gain new knowledge

B. How do you compare virtual communication and face-to-face communication?

Ans: Face-to-face communication needs people to be in the same place at the same time to share their ideas and feelings. But in virtual communications, we can talk to each other without being in the same place. Virtual communications help to reach across geographical boundaries. Examples of virtual meetings are zoom, facebook, whatsapp, etc.

Virtual communication can save our time as well as money. But sometimes face to face communication can cost our time and money because we have to travel to different places to attend meetings. According to a report, 80% of the companies of world use virtual meetings to convey their messages.

Face-to-face communication can cost a lot of money. It needs expenses like lodging,  fooding, travel expense, etc.  A virtual meeting can save 80% percent of the costs of a face-to-face meeting. Face to face communications are more effective than virtual one.

In the same way, we can’t feel tone of voice, body language, facial expression in virtual communication. Face-to-face meetings increase the bond between team members. A virtual meeting can save our earth too. It saves energy and fuel used for transportation.
